Is this wreath not absolutely adorable! My mom and I made it the other day, and it was so fun. There are lots of pages left...if anyone wants me to make them a book wreath with any other theme. It was about $15, minus my awesome store coupons. :-) Let me tell you how we made it!

I was on pinterest the other day, looking for leaf patterns, when I stumbled across someone's photo of crocheted peacock feathers. They were so beautiful, but alas, there was no pattern. So I peered close to my screen and made up a pattern to kinda sorta match what I saw. Her picture looks like she used 100% cotton, which gives a completely different feel than the cheapo synthetic stuff I have. But whatever. I am quickly growing to like mine. (Round 3 and round 5 have the same colors; the rest are different.) Click on any photo to see it enlarged.
Round 1: chain 4 and sc into first chain to make a loop. The other day at the thrift store, I found this awesome shirt. It was a men's shirt, and although I knew there was no way my husband would ever wear a shirt that had something that looked like a necklace on it, I bought it anyway.
In a perfect world, no one would take offense at another's observations. In a perfect world, words would flow so seamlessly and make the most sense. In a perfect world, well, in a perfect world, we wouldn't even be having this conversation, because in a truly perfect world, God would walk among us and any question we had we could ask Him and He could audibly give us an individual answer. But Satan and his pride and greed ruined that, so the next best thing we have is God's words in His Bible.
Ah, the Bible. Did you know that there are two main texts from which people translate? I didn't before I went to college. I spent the first half of the semester so confused until my {future} husband explained it. The Textus Receptus (or TR from now on) is where the English translation of the King James Version came from. The Critical Text (or CT) is where the NIV and a host of other modern translations came from. Pretty simple to understand, huh? {So why two texts? The TR was handed down through the apostles and the Christian churches. The CT was handed down via the Catholic church. (Someone actually found part of it in a trash can and pulled it out and decided it would make a good addition to their Bible!)} |
Who am I, you ask?
In 2006 I had a stroke, and every day my husband encourages me to use my remaining brain cells to the best of my ability. I love to organize, make crafts, and go on adventures (safe ones). I hope that through my blog posts, you will be encouraged to accept and make the best of challenges God throws at your life. Categories
