A lot has happened in the two months since I've last posted. Ej read some books in his room: I scrapbooked my personal hymnal I use in orchestra that kept getting stolen in choir in hopes that whoever took it would leave it alone (no such luck, though, but it is easier to find now, at least). EJ had fun on the chalkboard at Sav-a-life: (The South believe <a little bit of snow, a bunch of traffic> "We're all gonna die!" Meanwhile, in Wisconsin <completely covered in snow> "How would you like your burger?" And an all terrain defense pod from Star Wars.) I made a super fun blanket: Remember our "first spring"? Before it got super cold again? Park day! Lego-building and sleeping in his tent: That first spring didn't last long, because the next day, this happened to the windshield: One Sunday, it was just us and one of EJ's uncles for lunch, so he took us to this southern food restaurant. My parents moved about 30 minutes further south. Their new house has a fun sand pile the kids enjoyed. I love the second picture of EJ. Surrounded by friends, new and old, is just like him! This is literally the best picture I could get of EJ this park day (you can see MANY other people had the same idea as we did--this was the first day of our second spring!). I love the mid-air pose, though. This is the only picture I took on Easter. We went out to eat with two of EJ's uncles. EJ sang with his 1st - 6th grade choir and I accidentally took a picture instead of a video! When it FINALLY stopped raining long enough to go to the park, EJ made two new friends. They are from Georgia and will be back in late May, so we're hoping we can catch them at the park again! (Do you like how clear and in-focus that Burger King cup is?!? Cameras apparently don't understand I want pictures of my son, not some random fast-food paraphernalia.) I got two new pairs of shoes! (from the thrift store, so not completely new, but I do love this whole first pick thing working there--oh did I mention...my husband's family started a thrift store and I work there too now.) The black one is new and fits perfectly with just a little bit of wiggle room, size 6. The brown one is old (I got them in high school--and they are going to the thrift store tomorrow) and fits just a tiny bit tight and is a size 7. The brown boots (when you line up the soles) are actually about 3 millimeters smaller than the black boots. I made Jello Marshmallows for ladies' meeting. After a day, they taste like homemade peeps! EJ had so much fun helping me we decided to take the leftovers to Grammy's house to make some for her Sunday School class. (I was gonna make a whole post about just this, but: Marshmallows. Submerge in water, roll around in jello powder, eat.) My first spring handbell concert! We have another one next Sunday. Check out our website or facebook page for more info on that (embellishments.org). (EJ has a part in the last song--you don't want to miss it!) We are praying right before we go in. I am so thankful that I can play in a city group where all the other members love God and we pray before every concert! And there you have it! My life was BUSY the last two months! Although it shows no sign of slowing down any time soon, maybe I can keep up a little better now that I've gotten into a "busy" routine. :-)

Who am I, you ask?
In 2006 I had a stroke, and every day my husband encourages me to use my remaining brain cells to the best of my ability. I love to organize, make crafts, and go on adventures (safe ones). I hope that through my blog posts, you will be encouraged to accept and make the best of challenges God throws at your life. Categories
