I also found some homemade-looking angels to put on, along with my childhood ornaments.
We have two trees, a 6' pre-lit one, and a used-to-be 7' one from the thrift store that now stands about 4' high because it's missing the bottom half of the trunk. The pre-lit one goes downstairs in our den. We barely got anything unpacked, and I busted a blood vessel. Merry Christmas to me! These empty glass ornaments will be our Christmas crafts for each day in December when we decorate one a day to describe a name or quality of Jesus. I decided with 25 of them, to go ahead and put them on the tree. Here it is, after the first time I decided we were finished. The empty glass ones are up, just not noticeable yet. Later, we put on red bows, but the next day I replaced them with silver ones. I also found some homemade-looking angels to put on, along with my childhood ornaments. Daddy, thoroughly enjoying the Christmas spirit: :-) Of course, our tree wouldn't be complete without something just a little bit funny with the manger scene. It also can't be Christmas without all my angels. Last year I put them all on our upstairs tree. This year, all the standing up and sitting down ones are going here. I think I have about as many only hanging ones. I stayed downstairs chatting with a friend on fb while my husband used his muscles and vacuumed upstairs. When I heard the vacuum cut off, we headed upstairs to put the other tree up. When I got up there, this is what I saw: My dad taught me, and I'm just passing down the vital branch-fluffing information to the next generation. I saw this picture after I transferred all the pictures to my computer. I asked my husband why he took it. He said he was getting pictures of everyone's job, and the computer is playing Christmas music for us. Yes, I agree, an important job! The tree is fluffed, time for lights. "Um, Mom, I think these go up here, not on me!" This is as far as the lights go. Quick run to the store for more lights! So no more pictures of the process, because we were all decorating! Here's the finished product: This is the first time I've done a tree with a fancy theme. All the others had themes like candy, angels, well I think once we did balls and bows, but there wasn't a particular color and it didn't exactly look fancy. I love this one! I know this shot is blurry, but I didn't have all day to stand there and get a good picture. All in all, it was so fun to decorate the trees! Now to decorate the rest of the living room. :-)

not sure how I missed this post. looks like you all had lots of fun :) I always forget to take picutres, probably because I am busy keeping someone from playing with certain breakables.... still learning about that over here :) but our tiny tree has wonderfully tiny gingerbread men cut from scrap wood that my granny decorated for us... and gold bells and red bows. "fancy-country" :)

Who am I, you ask?
In 2006 I had a stroke, and every day my husband encourages me to use my remaining brain cells to the best of my ability. I love to organize, make crafts, and go on adventures (safe ones). I hope that through my blog posts, you will be encouraged to accept and make the best of challenges God throws at your life. Categories
