I did a lot of exercises, including using fins on my hands. The therapist said I have flexor spasticity in my arm/hand and extensor spasticity in my leg/foot. She said the aquatic exercises will help both. She also gave me a few exercises to do at home and encouraged me to ask my insurance if they give discounts for Y memberships, so I can access a pool more often.
All in all, a successful first day. She said to plan on twice a week, so I will either be coming alone or bringing William (and leaving him in the car because some ladies do not protect their mystery AT ALL). I sure am thankful Bill was able to take off this afternoon and come with me today, though. It cut my anxiety down to feathers. (I don't know what that means, but that's exactly how it felt.)
The therapist said the doctor is the one to do botox and the splint/brace, but I think she meant my primary care doctor, not my neurologist. So we'll be making phone calls on Monday about that.
