First of all, isn't this yarn beautiful?! And isn't this pattern so cool? You chain 7, then skip 4 and double crochet (dc) into the next 3. Chain 4 and dc into the tops of the 3 dc of the first round. Repeat until you have 7 [chain-4 loops] on the right side. When you make the 8th [chain-4 loop] on the right side, you want to chain 2, then put your hook through the previous 3 [chain-4 loops] on the right side. Yarn over and draw through all three loops, then single crochet and chain 2 to finish the loop. That is what creates the hump at the ends. Then to create the [chain-4 loop] on the side closest to what you've already done [chain 2, dc into the loop directly across, chain 2]. You can adjust the pattern to fit whatever you're making. The original pattern was for a doily and was 4 dc wide and the loops were 5 chains, but I wanted something a little smaller for a scarf. The original pattern is also in a book, so I can't put a link to it.

A most beautiful scarf!! Thanks for writing out the instructions--I think I'll have to print that off and try it--but first I need to get some really soft and feminine yarn!

Who am I, you ask?
In 2006 I had a stroke, and every day my husband encourages me to use my remaining brain cells to the best of my ability. I love to organize, make crafts, and go on adventures (safe ones). I hope that through my blog posts, you will be encouraged to accept and make the best of challenges God throws at your life. Categories
