The library website said that the show will be again this afternoon, but it will be at an elementary school smack in the middle of 3 bad areas. I figure, if people send their little kids to school there, it shouldn't be that bad, right? But hubby says no, and I know he's just looking out for us. :-) Maybe we'll go bowling this afternoon instead.
Today we were going to go to the library to watch a marionette puppet show about good ol' Rumpel. When we got there, the only parking spot available was "carpool only". They had a sign displayed, announcing more parking somewhere else--that turned out to be several blocks down on the OTHER side of a main highway. Um, no thank you! So we went to the park instead. There were several moms--they talked like they were best friends. After about 10 minutes, one of them introduced herself. This little girl sneaked away from them, but thankfully she didn't get any closer to EJ before losing interest and wandering back. He climbed up to the top of this and I could tell he was struggling to get down. Eventually, he waved me over, so I suggested he turn himself around and he shimmied right on down. On our way back to the car, there was a little stream, so we stopped and "smelled the roses". There was a bend before this where it was like a sewer, you know, the bottom is flat and it's really wide. There were itty bitty fish like this trying to swim against the current and every few minutes, whole groups of them would let themselves be carried downstream a few feet, then they'd try to swim up again. There were hundreds of them. So although our original plan of seeing Rumpelstiltskin fell through, we still had an enjoyable morning.

It does sound like the day was salvaged quite nicely!! Looks like EJ had a great time at the park--nothing quite says "fun" like climbing and swinging!! Wish I could be there too!

Who am I, you ask?
In 2006 I had a stroke, and every day my husband encourages me to use my remaining brain cells to the best of my ability. I love to organize, make crafts, and go on adventures (safe ones). I hope that through my blog posts, you will be encouraged to accept and make the best of challenges God throws at your life. Categories
