Last week, I told my husband that I enjoyed playing the big bells, but after this concert, no thank you! I can't wait to go back to my little, 4 pound bells!
Last night I helped a Presbyterian church with their spring concert. I was asked originally to be a sub, but then everyone could come, so they put me at the bottom, playing bells they normally don't play. The service was interesting, definitely different from what I'm used to! The first song we played was "The Bells of Wythe" (don't ask me how that's pronounced!). The next song, I didn't play, and then we played "An English Melody." The next song was "Canticle of Hope." When I watched these videos, several things came to mind. First, if I had known my husband was going to be zoomed in on ME the entire time, I...well, I wouldn't have played with my hair, and I wouldn't have looked so bored during the boring parts. And I definitely would have kept a straight face! Also, the camera makes it look so easy! Those bells are 8+ pounds EACH. Imagine full gallons of milk. Plus a little bit. HEAVY! I have no muscles left!

Who am I, you ask?
In 2006 I had a stroke, and every day my husband encourages me to use my remaining brain cells to the best of my ability. I love to organize, make crafts, and go on adventures (safe ones). I hope that through my blog posts, you will be encouraged to accept and make the best of challenges God throws at your life. Categories
