The pool is like, 5 degrees cooler than I'd love, but, that's normal. Not looking forward to the spring when the world thinks it's warm but it is NOT warm yet. What this means is that by the time my hour is over, I'm very cold. Then I walk, dripping, soaking wet, outside the pool dome--OUTSIDE outside into the frozen wind--and back inside the other building. My teeth are chattering so badly I can't speak. I go straight to the hot tub and exercise the utmost restraint to get into the tub in a decent, lady-like manner. Last week I didn't stay long because someone else got in that I just could NOT share the hot tub with. If you want the story, it's best told in real life. <commence puking>
(If you read my previous post and are still wondering why my therapist never showed up when I was supposed to be scheduled on Friday...That Wednesday, she went directly home from my appointment, feeling terrible, and tested positive for covid! She immediately canceled all her Friday patients and just forgot to notify me. This past Wednesday, she was better and back and asked if I felt sick last week. Apparently my antibodies from last July haven't worn off yet as I did not get sick from her exposure.)
A quick (maybe, I *am* a writer...) update on my seizure meds. I am happy to announce my mental difficulties when my side goes numb have completely disappeared! No more confusion, no more thinking the world's problems are my fault, no more etc. However (there's always a however, isn't there?), my hand and foot are in actual pain now when my side goes numb. They feel swollen and prickly, like when a normal person's hand or foot goes numb and then all the nerves waking back up create pain. (This seems like a good thing, right?) I can push through (before I couldn't because my mind couldn't focus), and it still only lasts about 45 seconds start to finish. I've been on the meds for two months now. The doctor will draw blood in March to see how my body is dealing with them. I suspect he may want to up my dose (if my blood work comes back okay) to get results faster. I may be okay with that, since I can tell they ARE working.
Pic from winter of '19-'20. My hair is at least 6 inches longer now!
