I had seen these acorns on Pinterest and thought, since I was busy making another craft for this month's ladies' meeting, I needed something easy and quick. Having a pint-sized helper was nice, too. We laid out all our ingredients (EJ was trying not to smile): From right to left: bowl for trash, unwrapped kisses, wrapped kisses, nutter butter bites, mini chocolate chips, lined cookie sheet, white cookie icing. I just love that smile! I put cookie icing on the nutter butter bite and EJ smooshed the flat part of the kisses into the icing, then we put them in the fridge upside down so the icing would harden. When I went to put the mini chips on the top of the nutter butter bite, I found that it was quite small, so I raided my cabinet (and found a bag of unopened mini chips!) and (also) found butterscotch chips. We decided that the larger size and the lighter brown color looked better, so a dot of icing and the chips were glued on the acorn caps. Some of the nutter butter bites had broken in half, but most were whole. I thought the single layer for the cap looked better, but EJ said he liked the double layer because that meant it would taste better. I took a whole bowlful to ladies' meeting and really expected to bring a bunch home, but there weren't any left by the end of the evening! I guess that means I'll have to buy another bag of nutter butter bites so I can make some acorns for EJ to eat!

Who am I, you ask?
In 2006 I had a stroke, and every day my husband encourages me to use my remaining brain cells to the best of my ability. I love to organize, make crafts, and go on adventures (safe ones). I hope that through my blog posts, you will be encouraged to accept and make the best of challenges God throws at your life. Categories
