Getting back on a schedule with my meds has been a rollercoaster. I'm fairly certain I did not take it at all last week, because I've been experiencing lots of pain, numbness, headaches, and sleepiness like I did before I started taking it and when I first started. My reminder works again, and I can already tell I'm getting used to the meds again.
Trying to wrap up loose ends from things I've mentioned before and never came back to...Oh, the medicine hasn't helped my cycle pain other than that very first time, so I'm calling that a fluke. Oh well. (Again, sorry if TMI, but...such is life.) I can't think of anything else off the top of my head, so moving right along.
My next neuro appointment is in 5 days. They will take blood to check my levels of stuff (vitamins, minerals, and white cell count) to make sure the meds aren't wreaking havoc inside my body. I will detail how improved I am with my side going numb (you know, when I take it regularly), so he may decide to up my dose to try to knock the numbness out completely (in which case I expect more side effects for a while again while I get used to it), or keep me on the same dose for the next three months. Or take me off completely if the blood work comes back bad!
We will also discuss my therapy. He will make the final decision on if I need more or I'm done. I personally think another two or three months would be great, but we'll see how much sway that one therapist has.
Sorry for the long post. Hopefully I didn't put you to sleep. I probably won't update again until after my appointment unless something major happens.
