Not sure what I'll do for the other wooden ones we'll make!
The end.

After racking my brain trying to figure this one out...I did the other ornaments that came from the same verse so that they matched. By the time I got to this verse (with 5 descriptions) I didn't have 5 ornaments that matched. So I decided to do them all different. When we bought the ornaments at Michael's, we got two packages of small glass ones, one package of big glass ones, a cookie cutter in the shape of a candy cane, two ceramic ornaments, and 6 little wood ones. So, one of each. I have bags and bags of this colored rice. It was originally left over from when my husband and I taught day camp for the summer after we got married (seven and a half years ago). We have been lugging these bags of rice around with every move since then, determined that I will eventually find a really good use for it. Well, that day has FINALLY come. I still have a lot left over, but maybe when we've been married 15 years, I'll find another use for the rest of the rice. :-) For the ball ornaments, we used the funnel and poured the rice in. For the flat ones, we used Elmer's, and for the cookie cutter, I had to use hot glue. I tried Elmer's first, but the glue just peeled off: Hot glue was slow, but it worked. I printed off the names and we glued them on the ornaments. This is the wooden one. I found a stray hanger thingy and hot glued it to the back. Not sure what I'll do for the other wooden ones we'll make! The end.

I am making Elias read this. He will have a newfound acceptance of my need to save everything that 'could' be use as a craft...he has already accepted me saving all our formula cans since his "12 days of Christmas loving" used up 12 of them...but after reading that you saved rice for over 7 years??? Those wedding fans won't look so bad anymore! :)

Who am I, you ask?
In 2006 I had a stroke, and every day my husband encourages me to use my remaining brain cells to the best of my ability. I love to organize, make crafts, and go on adventures (safe ones). I hope that through my blog posts, you will be encouraged to accept and make the best of challenges God throws at your life. Categories
