Now don't let the title fool you--while these are cookies, there is not one shred of pumpkin in or on them. 1. Start with oreos. 2. Melt the butterscotch chips. (Yum!) 3. Be frustrated that butterscotch doesn't melt like you thought it would, and now you have to scrape and smooth rather than pour. 4. Smooth the butterscotch over the front of the oreos. Let them sit for a long time, or stick them in the fridge for about 5 minutes. Meanwhile, have your slave, I mean your son, break skinny pretzels into small pieces. :-) 5. Squeeze green frosting at the top and let it drip over the side. I thought since I needed a tiny little bit on each cookie, a squeeze-thing would be much less hassle than trying to scoop out what I need from a tub of frosting and trying to set it on the oreos. Also, Wal-mart didn't have green frosting in a tub, so that's always a good reason not to get something. 6. Press a piece of pretzel onto the frosting that's running down the side. Let sit 4 minutes, and ta-da! The directions I found on, where else?, Pinterest, said to stick the pretzel piece horizontal into the oreo cream, however, I forgot about that and after the butterscotch hardened, I had to come up with something else. Also, the lady who originally blogged about this didn't use butterscotch, and hers didn't look all wobble-liney. You can see hers here. (And I bet hers cost a lot more than mine!) (Supper was also good, can you tell?) I made these pumpkins for ladies meeting last week, and there were only two left, so I let my boys each have one. Today I made four more for them (pictures are all from today).

I don't know, Jess, you've been cooking/baking more lately...have you switched bodies with Martha Stewart? ;)

I think you are just rubbing off on me. You better stop, or else I won't even recognize myself anymore! Whenever I baked when I was a kid, my dad called me "Suzy Q homemaker" or something like that. Now I'm "Jess F homemaker" (although that doesn't have a ring to it...oh well).

Who am I, you ask?
In 2006 I had a stroke, and every day my husband encourages me to use my remaining brain cells to the best of my ability. I love to organize, make crafts, and go on adventures (safe ones). I hope that through my blog posts, you will be encouraged to accept and make the best of challenges God throws at your life. Categories
