Having lived through it, I can recognize when kids are getting bullied. I see the glance down at the ground as the person tries to decide if what the bully says is true, the slump of the shoulders or the sideways tilt of the chin as the person inwardly either agrees or disagrees.
I did live through it. I was bullied in high school. I did not know what to do, and looking back, I'm still not sure what I should have done. I wish I could tell my son everything I would have done differently, so he will be better equipped than I was, but I just don't know what that is. What a horrible feeling to know and see your beloved child being picked on and not know what to do about it.
