I painted inside my lines and waited a VERY long time for the paint to dry before erasing my pencil marks. Then I spent forEVER arranging the buttons. When I finally got them where I liked them, I carefully hot glued them down. I think it would be pretty with red/green/yellow/orange/brown buttons also.
I am NOT a painter, or artist, or drawer, or anything like that. But I saw something like this and really wanted to try it. So I got some thick cardstock and took a pencil and very lightly drew a trunk and some triangle branches. I had the most blue buttons, so I decided this was a winter snow tree. I was in the button mood, so I got a scrap of white sheet and hand sewed the stems, then sewed the buttons on. I cut a piece of green cardstock as my mat and found the frame at the thrift store. When I first made this, I really liked it, but now (2 1/2 years later) I realize it's a little busy. I did not like the straight stems of Pinterest pictures, and one row with curved stems looked kinda bare, but I think I overdid it. And there are most of my colored buttons! For my birthday last year, I got some colored buttons, and I used them on the quiet book I made for my niece. There are SO many button crafts out there, I could never make them all, but it sure would be fun to try!

Who am I, you ask?
In 2006 I had a stroke, and every day my husband encourages me to use my remaining brain cells to the best of my ability. I love to organize, make crafts, and go on adventures (safe ones). I hope that through my blog posts, you will be encouraged to accept and make the best of challenges God throws at your life. Categories
